Free Computer Classes The Mercer County District Library has been offering free computer classes to the public for over 10 years. There is absolutely no charge to attend, and anyone is welcome. Sign-up at the circulation desk or by calling the library, there is a limit of the first 6 people in the class. The classes are hands on in a computer lab setting. Currently the library offers six different classes.
Computer Basics – Learn the basics of computers, including the parts of a computer and basic computer programs. This class requires absolutely no prior computer knowledge. Internet 101 – Designed especially for the beginner, this class will give a general overview of what the Internet is, its basic functions, how to navigate, and how to find information on the Internet. Internet 201 – This class is for those wanting to further their knowledge of the Internet. Learn how to use e-mail, the library’s web page, e-bay and many more useful websites. Word Processing – Designed especially for beginners, this class will give a general overview of Word Processing. You will learn how to use Microsoft Word to type letters, make signs and more. Digital Photography - Learn about features and options you should be aware of when buying a digital camera. We'll also review some of the things that can be done with your pictures after you have taken them. Computer Help Workshop – Get individualized help with your specific computer problems.
